There are many people who give advice on leadership. Only a few of them truly have good advice. John C. Maxwell is one of the few. In The Leadership Handbook: 26 Critical Lessons Every Leader Needs Maxwell gives some great advice for anyone in any sort of leadership position.
Each chapter, which is made up of one of the 26 lessons, ends with exercises to help get these ideas rolling in your own life.
One of my favorite chapters is #20 - "The Choices You Make, Make You." He gives three choices that he has made that govern how he leads. One of these choices is "Helping people is more important than making them happy." This one line makes the entire book worthwhile.
If you are involved in leadership in any way, you need this book in your library. It is one that I will not be getting rid of any time soon. Go and get your copy now.
